On April 25th, the flagship store of COTTONINK at Senayan City was the venue for a very special event; The COTTONINK x Ria Miranda Soirée. It was an occasion to celebrate the upcoming launch of COTTONINK x Ria Miranda Raya Collection. The event only invited a handful of people as the VVIP guests to attend the get-together filled with fun styling and shopping session. The whole thing started with a press conference where media partners had the chance to have some conversation with Carline Darjanto and Ria Sarwono of COTTONINK and Ria Miranda as the main collaborator to talk about how this collection started, “I was thinking about how I can do something different for the year 2019, and COTTONINK was on the top of my mind. So, I approached them for a collaboration,” said the the designer. The heads-up from the well-known modest designer was welcomed with excitement from COTTONINK’s Brand and Marketing Director, Ria Sarwono, “I replied her email immediately, and said ‘We’re ready!'”
Merging the strong identities of the two brands was one of the challenges faced during the conception of the collection, “We’re trying to make the existing customers of COTTONINK and Ria Miranda happy by bridging our signatures into cohesive pieces that can be something they would beautifully wear on their special day,” said COTTONINK’s Creative Director, Carline Darjanto. The 30 pieces of the collaboration collection displays the best of both worlds from the brands, the pastel-colored lively prints of Ria Miranda and the effortless cotton-made silhouettes of COTTONINK. Helming the theme ‘Yansa’, or colors in Mandarin, the prints of the collection were inspired by the lush ornaments of the Ming dynasty.
The celebration continues with styling session with the designer herself who encouraged to go all bold by clashing prints from the collection, “You won’t overdo it, these printed pieces are soft-colored so they would mesh together perfectly without being overwhelming,’ Ria Miranda explained. Shorty after that, the VVIP guests shopped to their heart’s desire on the collection (with some limitations of course, the shopping session came with a limited piece policy to ensure everyone is able to get their hands on the pieces). At the end of the day people came out of the store with smiling faces while carrying their shopping bags filled with their favorite pieces from the collection.
The #COTTONINKxRiaMiranda collection is set to launch on April 29th online and store-wide.
